Disability Transportation |
|
Disability services.
Throughout the four counties we serve, Four County Transit offers transportation to residents with disabilities. This service has been available since 1996 and is funded through a combined effort of Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services and the local county disability service boards.
Eligibility requirements.
To be considered eligible for disability transportation, there must be a physical or sensory disability present -- mental disability alone does not qualify you to ride as a client with a disability.
To find out if your disability meets eligibility requirements, please call a Four County Transit coordinator at least 48 hours in advance at 1-276-963-1486 or toll-free 1-888-656-2272.
Is there a transportation fee?
There is no charge for disability transportation. Grant funding is provided to benefit citizens with disabilities in our service area. As with any grant funding, however, continuation of services is subject to the availability of funds.
How to schedule a ride.
Call a Four County Transit coordinator at least 48 hours in advance at 1-276-963-1486 or toll-free 1-888-656-2272. A transportation coordinator will verify your trip information and schedule the trip. |
