Our facility

We moved into a new administration and vehicle maintenance facility in the spring of 2007. The facility is funded by the Federal Transit Administration, the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation, and the Boards of Supervisors for Buchanan County, Dickenson County, Russell County and Tazewell County. Thompson & Litton, Inc., Radford, Va., designed the facility.  Nickels, Inc., Tazewell, Va., built the structure.

The building offers 5,616 square feet for staff and 6,300 square feet of maintenance support.  It includes four maintenance/service bays, one vehicle wash bay, and a large parts/storage area.  Four County Transit utilizes a rainwater collection and storage system to wash its vehicles.  An environmental friendly heating system employs used vehicle fluids.
